Materials Accepted

General Notes:
Any food or drink containers should be rinsed and dried. Remove caps from plastic containers. Tin cans can have the labels on. Separate as much as possible. Bring your recycling containers in; we will empty them and return them to your vehicle.

  • Paper
    Newspaper, White paper, Colored paper Glossy paper, Shredded paper, Envelopes, Books, Phonebooks & Magazines.
     
  • Cardboard
    Corrugated cardboard & Chipboard
     
  • Metal
    Aluminum cans, Tin cans
     
  • Glass
    Beer Bottles, Wine Bottles, food jars & bottles

     
  • Plastic
    Plastic #1 -- Polyethylene Terephalate Ethylene
    Mostly soft drink, juice, water, detergent, and cleaner bottles. Also used for cooking and peanut butter jars.

    Plastic #2 – High Density Polyethylene
    Mostly milk and water jugs, bleach bottles, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, plastic bags and grocery sacks, motor oil bottles, household cleaners, and butter tubs.

Not Accepted:

  • Plastic Grocery & Shopping bags (try local Grocery Store like No-Frills or Wal-Mart)
  • Clothing (try local Thrift Store like Joseph’s Coat)
  • Brush & tree limbs (South of Center at the City drop off location)
  • Lumber
  • Styrofoam
  • Ceramics, light bulbs, window glass
  • Yogurt containers, TV dinner plates/trays
